WORLD CUP 2022: ALL COMPETITION STAGES IN QATAR

World Cup 2022: ALL COMPETITION STAGES IN QATAR

There will be eight stadiums used for the 2022 World Cup, which will be held in Qatar from November
20 to December 18. Here they are all together. Four years after a World Cup in Russia that required
extensive travel, Qatar is now hosting a World Cup that features the closest venues ever. In fact, there
are eight of them scattered across Qatari land, and they are only a few tens of kilometers apart.

  • Stadium LUSAIL (80,000 SEATS)

This is the World Cup's primary venue. 15 kilometers north of Doha is the Lusail Iconic Stadium, which

is in the city of Lusail that was created particularly for the occasion. The largest World Cup stadium

has a seating capacity of 80,000, and it was created by British architects from the firm Foster +

Partners. There will be a notable final there. The Lusail Stadium is easily reachable and has a direct

metro line from Doha.

  •  AL-BAYT Stadium (60,000 SEATS)

The Al-Bayt stadium, which will hold the opening ceremony and the first World Cup game on

November 20, is situated 60 kilometers north of Doha in the city of Al-Khor. It has a capacity of about

60,000 spectators. This speaker is extremely stunning in terms of design. When you get close, it looks

like a huge tent. The interior decorations are also highly unique because they strongly resemble

Bedouin tents. The roof can be retracted as well. You must take a taxi or a bus to get there.

  •  AL-JANOUB Stadium (40,000 SEATS)

The late architect Zaha Hadid created the 40,000-seat Al-Janoub stadium. The hulls of the pearl

fishing boats that have long operated along the Arabian Peninsula's shores served as the inspiration

for this enclosure, which is situated in the village of Al-Wakrah, just 20 kilometers from Doha. There

will only be a round of 16 there. Don't forget that the metro is nearby.

  • 974 STADIUM (40,000 SEATS)

Undoubtedly, this stadium is the most intriguing. The 40,000-seat Ras Abu Aboud Stadium, also

known as Stadium 974 (Stade 974 in French), was constructed using recycled materials and shipping

containers. After the World Cup, this stadium will be fully demolished. The currency will be put to use

for national initiatives. Keep in mind that only group games and the round of 16 will be held there.

  • THE KHALIFA INTERNATIONAL STADIUM (45,416 SEATS)

The Khalifa International Stadium is located in Doha, in the heart of the Aspire Zone, a space of

technological development and innovation renowned throughout the world and among many athletes.

This enclosure with more than 45,000 seats has existed since 1976. It is one of only two stadiums to

be renovated for this World Cup.

  • EDUCATION CITY STADIUM (40,000 SEATS)

The Education City Stadium is situated on the campus of Qatar's flagship university, as suggested by

its name. Up until the quarterfinals, games will be played in this 40,000-seat arena. It can be reached

by car or the metro and is only 7 kilometers from the heart of Doha (taxi, bus). It should be highlighted

that 20,000 spots will thereafter be allocated to help develop stadiums in underdeveloped nations.

  • ALTUMAMA STADIUM (40,000 SEATS)

The Al-Thumama stadium is situated 12 kilometers from the heart of Doha. Its design was influenced

by the traditional headdress used in Arab nations. One of the four World Cup quarterfinals will be

played in this 40,000-seat stadium. It will thereafter be halved, like other stadiums in the Emirate

erected for the occasion, and 20,000 seats will be made available to promote stadium building in poor

nations. There is also a metro line that leads there.

  • THE AHMAD-BIN-ALI STADIUM IN AL-RAYYAN (40,000 SEATS)

Ahmad bin Ali Stadium is located in Al-Rayyan a few kilometers from Doha. This enclosure has been

renovated and offers a capacity of 40,000 seats. There will be matches until the quarter-finals of the

World Cup. To access the stadium, you have to go to Al-Rayyan, the largest city in Qatar, by metro in

particular.
